Two runners tonight at Dundalk in Tenessee waltz and Khwarizmi
Tenessee gets the ball rolling in the 7 furlong handicap. He is doing very well at home and we feel that it is only a matter of time before he adds another win to his name. A winner four times in his last 14 runs, the son of Footsteps In The Sands is continuing to do us and his owners Mel, Damian Lavelle and Martin Dixon proud. After buying him for only 8,000 euros out of a claimer last year he has steadily risen in the weights from a mark of 45 to run tomorrow off 64 but hopefully he is up to the challenge under a promising claimer Andrew Slattery.
Khwarizmi will take on the older horses in the 6 furlong handicap. At this time of the year he will receive 16 pounds weight for age which puts him in off 8 stone 6 lbs. It is always very tough for the three year olds to take on older horses at this time of the year but we feel that he can put up a bold showing. A winner of his maiden before Christmas, Khwarizmi is trying hard and has come on since his last run so fingers crossed he gets a good clear run for his owner Mr Saeed Al Romaithi.
Seanie ran a very creditable race to finish 4th over a mile. He came out of the race well and hopefully he should return to his favourite trip in a couple of weeks over 7 furlongs a trip he has won 6 times over.
I was particularly delighted with Patrick Joseph’s run to be beaten less than a length on his handicap debut. He is a horse we like a lot here and hopefully this inexperienced colt can improve away and get to the winners enclosure next time.
We are excited that Freescape will travel out to Dubai tomorrow with Khamruddin Tameem. The Cityscape gelding will hopefully run on the 8th of February in the Meydan Classic for three year olds. We have won the race twice before with Elleval and also He’s No Saint and I know Freescape can do us proud.
He will step up to a mile in the Meydan Classic on the 1st of March.
