Dandy Boy

Bought for just 20,000 guineas at a breeze-up sale at Tattersalls, Dandy Boy quickly proved to be an exceptional bargain. He won three of his first eight starts including the prestigious Victoria Cup at Ascot in 2010. The following year he won a valuable handicap at the Dubai Carnival at Meydan (breaking the track record) and continued to progress in 2012, becoming the first Irish-trained horse to win the Wokingham Handicap at Royal Ascot in 27 years.

He went on to finish fourth in the Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup later that season and continued to race with credit until being retired sound in 2014 with career earnings of over £250,000. A very special horse for the yard and his owner Malih Al Basti.
